If you choose to trade a fixed number of shares, and you want to scale into that many shares, you need to be aware of the relationship between the number of shares you enter on the sizing tab, and the settings you enter on the pyramiding tab.
For example, if you want to trade with a max number of 4 entries, with the first one trading 800 shares, and subsequent entries scaled to trade 50% of prior entries, the trading sizes would be 800, 400, 200, and 100 shares respectively. The fixed number of shares you enter on the sizing tab must assume that all 4 entries will occur. Therefore, the fixed number of shares must be equal to the sum of those possible trades, or 1500 shares in this example.
Note that you need to have a large enough account balance on the sizing tab to cover all of the trades, as well as drawdown, or the number of shares traded may vary from your plan.
