I. NeuroShell Trader Professional wins Award for the fifth straight year!

We have again won the Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities magazine’s 2007 Readers’ Choice award for best artificial intelligence trading software. Steve Ward (CEO) and Marge Sherald (COO) accepted the award Saturday evening February 17 at the International Traders Expo in New York City. In his acceptance remarks Steve Ward thanked all of the Ward Systems Group customers for making this unprecedented award a reality.

Here was Steve Ward’s acceptance speech at the Trader’s Expo awards ceremony:

“I am honored, but there are several people I want to thank. First I want to thank Trader’s Expo and their sponsors for hosting this event.

Next I want to thank Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yes, the Governor of California. In his second Terminator movie, Arnold, the robot, was asked, ‘Can you do things you weren’t programmed to do? You know, so you can act human.’ His reply was, ‘My CPU is neural network processor – a learning machine.’ With those words one of the major things we do was embedded into the popular culture.

Next I want to thank Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities Magazine. They have created a forum for discussion, education, and yes, advertising, which has helped to make our company successful. In my opinion, they are the premier magazine for the business we are all in.

Most of all I want to thank our users, who have stood with us all these years, including through the introduction of our new release 5.0. They are truly the best set of users any company could hope for.

Finally I want to thank the Ward Systems Group staff, and especially Marge Sherald, who has been with me since we sold our first neural network software in 1988. They have all done a wonderful job building and supporting our software.”

II. Editorial Commentary by CEO Steve Ward

1. mYFeed. I’m really impressed by Bowfort Technologies mYFeed, which loads free daily data from a certain website we all know and love. I’m really impressed by how fast it gets data, and how it works the way other NeuroShell feeds work. That is to say there is a list of stocks, indexes, and mutual funds you can select from, and not just US issues. Select your country and issues from your country are presented. Although the data is free, Bowfort charges $18/month for the work they did interfacing this data nicely with NeuroShell, but I think it is well worth the price. Where else can you get really clean daily data for $18/month, much less data that comes directly into NeuroShell?

2. Artificial Intelligence Trading Software Award. Although we have won this award 5 years straight now, this time we got an actual physical plaque in a ceremony at Trader’s Expo. I am quite proud of this because I know that others out sell us, sometimes with techniques that I don’t like. One such, for example, does not offer a 30 day money back guarantee. Buyer beware. Another charges for technical support.

Anyway, we didn’t actually attend Traders’ Expo, but we dropped into a seminar there while we were waiting for the awards ceremony to begin. Boy was I surprised – I should get out more! It was a major brokerage giving a session about their online trading package. They started talking about how if you were an advanced, special trader, trading several times a month, you could use the advanced package they supply which did really cutting edge things, as he proceeded to show. You could actually pick a rule and a stock and the software will tell you how the rule would have done over the last several years! Not only that, but you could do the same thing with smaller bars, like one minute! All of this without writing any code!

The audience seemed amazed as he showed how a rule like a moving average crossover could quickly be inserted. The speaker wowed them by showing the source language the software generated that they didn’t have to write. No programming required! You could scan and see which stock was a candidate to buy based on a moving average. They flocked to the podium afterwards to get more info.

That experience makes me appreciate the sophistication of OUR users. I can’t help but think that it really is YOU who has won this award. Yes, we built the software, but it was you who guided what we did, tested our new features, and yes, stood with us and helped us through a number of problems we experienced in our new Release 5.0. So we thank you sincerely for your help and for getting out the vote. Since prospective users look to this award to make their software decisions, the new sales they bring will enable us to keep bringing you the support you have come to expect.

But I have to admit that after watching the speaker at Traders’ Expo get mobbed after his presentation, I wonder where we are going to find more users like you who can understand how much more we have to offer.

III. Seminar News.

Some seminar attendees have told us that as of March 2, the hotel was out of lower priced rooms, so they booked down the street. Not true. If you were told that, you probably called the Hilton 800 number. Call the local number (321 777 5000) instead if you want to stay at the Hilton because they have a better idea of what is going on.
