Dragging and dropping may be used to rearrange items on your chart. This can be very useful when trying to compare two items in your chart.
- Select a data series to drag and drop by clicking and holding the mouse button while the cursor is over the corresponding line or legend text.
- With the mouse button depressed, ‘drag‘ the cursor to the desired ‘drop‘ location and release the mouse button.
Notes:
- The drop location is indicated by a dotted rectangle.
- To move the data series into an existing subgraph, position the mouse so a large dotted rectangle is located over the destination subgraph.
- To move the data series to a new subgraph, position the mouse so a small dotted rectangle is located at the insertion point above or below an existing subgraph.
Troubleshooting:
- You must make sure the mouse cursor has changed to a hand before clicking on the line or legend text. If the cursor is still an arrow or a cross hair, the selection will not occur. If you are selecting a line on the chart, it is best to position the cursor over a data point instead of the portion of the line connecting two data points.
