I. Docuvest Announces Bloomberg Data Feed for NeuroShell Products

Docuvest is now offering NeuroShell product users a data interface to the Bloomberg Data Feed. For those NeuroShell users who already have a Bloomberg Terminal or Data Feed, or for those who wish to acquire this Data from Bloomberg, the Docuvest Bloomberg interface will allow all Bloomberg data to populate NeuroShell Charts, just as the e-Signal, DTN, and Interactive Brokers data feeds currently can supply data. The NeuroShell software and Docuvest Data Interface simply need to reside on the same computer as the Bloomberg software. The selection of Bloomberg data within NeuroShell is similar to the selection process for the other existing data options.

The data is of institutional quality, and it has unequaled breadth and depth. Any data that can be displayed or accessed by the Bloomberg Terminal can be viewed in a NeuroShell Chart. This includes financial instrument data, fundamental data, economic data, and vast selections of the same data sets used by the largest banks, institutions, and governments. Combined with the NeuroShell and ChaosHunter unparalleled trading system generation capabilities, the possibilities far exceed those of other data sources.

Docuvest offers the following link which provides examples of financial instrument and economic data sets:

http://docuvest.com/SampleCharts

The examples viewed at this link are only the “tip of the iceberg” of the data available from Bloomberg. Included in the link examples are monthly data for INDU and for London Gold going back over 100 years to 1900. The economic data goes back over 60 years, including jobless, employment, housing, and other market moving “numbers”. Some of the data only updates monthly, while other “numbers” are updated weekly or daily. NeuroShell users can display and utilize all Bloomberg data in its available time frame on the same chart, just as NeuroShell can display financial instrument data from other feeds. Intraday data, when available, works for all of the NeuroShell supported time sets, including minute based, tick based, and range based parameters. The same intraday data for financial instruments that is available from other data sources is also available from the Bloomberg Terminal which includes the Bloomberg Data Feed. All of the available data sets work with NeuroShell or ChaosHunter’s built-in, as well as the available add-on indicators, and, importantly, with all of the system generation tools available in NeuroShell and in ChaosHunter.

Introductory terms are available for interested parties. Please contact: nssupport@docuvest.com

III. Commentary by Steve Ward, CEO

1. Seminar – The 2011 Seminar was probably the best that we have ever put on, but not because of Ward Systems. It was a great group of traders with a wealth of experience, who taught me a great deal, as much as the other way around. Several of them presented their systems to everyone. I thank all attendees for the opportunity to become friends with you, and for all the nice words and emails afterwords, and even some thank you cards by old fashioned mail.

2. Bloomberg interface. I have always wanted NeuroShell to connect to Bloomberg, and now Docuvest has finally done it. (See article I above.) We already have quite a few Bloomberg “type” users, who have the means and need for Bloomberg data. Marry that data to NeuroShell and you have an unbeatable combination. If you already lease from Bloomberg, hop on the train. If not, this may be the catalyst you need.

3. PFGBest datafeed. PFGBest programmers are building a datafeed for NeuroShell to supplement the PFGBest trading interface that already exists for NeuroShell. Data will be free to PFGBest account holders. Look for this maybe next month.

4. ClearEdge Tools. Sidney Worth in a NeuroShell user who makes ClearEdge trading indicators. We are currently working with him to bring the ClearEdge technology to NeuroShell. I hope to report progress on that in future newsletters. Visit www.sidneyworth.com to see what he is doing.

5. Horse racing models. For years people have been wanting our various software offerings for handicapping horse races. It was so popular we even went to races in nearby Charlestown, WV one day to get ourselves acquainted with the sport. We made many attempts to show people how to configure NeuroShell 2, NeuroShell Predictor, and NeuroShell Classifier to be successful handcappers. I think we were only marginally effective because we didn’t have a real handicapper’s appreciation of the complexity of the sport, the variables, and the data. We also didn’t have ChaosHunter. Now, thanks to one of our ChaosHunter users who actually knows what he is doing, there is a real solution for ChaosHunter. Read the article below.

IV. Horse racing models in ChaosHunter

One of our ChaosHunter users from New Zealand has submitted to us a very detailed explanation of his technique called “How to Evaluate Horse Races Using ChaosHunter”. It is well written and complete with sample data files showing how to arrange the data. Here is an excerpt from his letter to Steve Ward:

“Hi Steve, as promised in the forum I am now uploading sample data for horse racing evaluation with ChaosHunter. These are only very small databases designed to demonstrate how a user can arrange their data for analysis by ChaosHunter.

I have written a detailed article to accompany the databases and explain some simple procedures for producing successful results. Should anyone deign to follow the advice offered, they ought to get excellent results!

I trust you will find the article and databases helpful. The standard of the writing should be up to par and, hopefully, will exceed your expectations. I’ve also gone beyond the call of duty in sharing some of my “secrets” in terms of how to apply statistics, how to rank the variables, and the strategy suggestions.”

We have posted his secrets in the ChaosHunter section of ward.net, and ChaosHunter users will find his posts on the ChaosHunter forum under the “screen name” of DaGeniusNZ. We are greatful to DaGeniusNZ for all the work he has done in order to share his success with other ChaosHunter users.
