In order for Interactive Brokers to accept trades from the Trader, Interactive Brokers Traders Workstation must be running on the same computer as the Trader.
In the Trader, be sure Interactive Brokers has been selected as your broker by going to the Tools Menu, Options, Trading Orders. Note that there’s an Interactive Brokers selection as well as an Advisor profile selection for Interactive Brokers. Check the help file for details on how to set up advisor accounts.
Next open the chart or charts you want to trade. Each chart must include at least one Trading Strategy.
Select the Trading Strategies to trade by going to the View Menu and select the Alerts/Orders Window. The window displays a list of available Trading Strategies from all open charts. Check the ones you want to trade with Interactive Brokers.
