I. The Polls are Now Open for the TASC 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards
The October issue of Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities magazine announces on page 37 that you can now vote for the 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards. We’re asking for your vote.
During the continued hard economic times of the past year, one comment that our sales staff often hears is that prospective buyers pick up the phone and make the call because NeuroShell Trader won the Readers’ Choice Award. In order for those sales phones to keep ringing, please take a few minutes of your time and cast your vote. This will mean that we can continue to pay staff to provide FREE technical support and assistance. We can also continue to invest in updating your software. We both benefit.
Here’s how you cast a vote:
1. Get your copy of the Stocks & Commodities magazine and visit www.Traders.com (any issue will do; it doesn’t have to be the October one). Look on the right side of the web site for the 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards and click on the Vote Now! link. On the Readers’ Choice Awards Ballot enter your subscriber ID from your magazine address label (look at their example to see which numbers on the label are the subscriber ID). Next enter your last name.
2. After you are logged in, look for the Standalone Analytical Software, $1000 and more category on page 2. Be sure to mark you ballot for NeuroShell Trader Professional (Ward Systems Group Inc.)
3. Do the same for the Artificial Intelligence Software (Expert, Neural) category on page 3. Look for NeuroShell Trader Professional (Ward Systems Group Inc.). THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT VOTE!
4. Also in the Artificial Intelligence Software category, we’d appreciate a second place vote for GeneHunter, the genetic algorithm optimizer that is included in NeuroShell Trader Professional.

II. ChaosHunter IB Trader coming soon
We are nearing completion of a special platform to trade ChaosHunter models. It loads ChaosHunter model files and automatically trades them with Interactive Brokers. It will also do manual trading, and exporting of text files that can be loaded into ChaosHunter. The best part is that it will also trade several ChaosHunter models as a “panel of experts”. For example, it will buy when a majority of models is signaling buy. Stay tuned for more details next month.

III. Commentary by Steve Ward, CEO
1. Please vote for NeuroShell. If you are a subscriber of Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities Magazine, we need your vote. Please do not sit this election out, because continuing to bring you the free tech support we have for 23 years really does depends on a good showing in the Readers’ Choice awards. We have never charged anyone for help, and we do not want to start. Some of you do not require much help, but someday even you might need it. The first article above tells how to vote.
2. Batch processing of NeuroShell Trader optimizations.
Often times our users have asked about a batch processing capability for optimizing a chart against multiple trading strategies. For example, at the end of every week you might want to start your computer testing your favorite basket of stocks (in a single chart) against your favorite basket of trading strategies. The Power User versions have this capability, allowing you to go play golf while all the strategies are being tested.
The first step is to save all of your favorite strategies as trading strategy templates. Now you can load your chart with your favorite stocks and insert a new trading strategy. In Power User, you are not restricted to choosing just one trading strategy template; you can choose a number of them. They will all optimize against all the stocks in your chart, and the results will be ready when you get back.
3. Picking stocks from a basket.
Not many of our users realize that it is possible to construct a NeuroShell trading strategy that decides which of a multiple of stocks in the chart (a.k.a. basket) should be traded. In other words, the trading strategy does not act independently for each stock, but instead the strategy operates on all the stocks at once. The process is analogous to scanning the basket and generating signals for only those that are better than the rest at meeting some criteria. For example, maybe you want to buy only those stocks that have shown the highest percentage gain over the last month.
The key to comparing the criteria lies in the Chart Page Calculation indicators. These indicators can help you select those stocks which best meet the criteria among all the stocks in the chart. To see how they can be put to use in chart picking, please study our NeuroShell portfolio examples 18, 19 and 22. Those who have updated to release 6 can also load another example from ward.net in the section called “Tips from Active Trader and other sources”:
