I. Letter from PFGBest – BESTDirect eSignal

Thank you for your interest in PFGBEST. As a NeuroShell user you can take advantage of unique value we offer for eSignal as your data feed. I know you hear many free offers of a product or service with an inflated overvalued price. This is different, this is a real value. I was a sales rep with eSignal for three years and cost was the biggest obstacle preventing me from selling eSignal. It was just too expensive. If you have eSignal or have looked into it you know that eSignal costs $150 per month plus exchange fees of $300 for CBT, CME, COMEX, NYMEX and ICE-US for a total of $450. If you want GTIS cash FOREX add another $50. But the cost for BESTDirect eSignal is $125 all in.

With the integration of BESTDirect’s order routing, eSignal is transformed from a fee liable quote terminal into a fee waived trading platform: from a single application you can manage your trades with both eSignal’s and NeuroShell’s world class analytics. You can even trade and manage your account from within an eSignal chart, or trade your account with NeuroShell’s integrated trading feature. We offer first rate customer service, direct access to exchange trade servers, and competitive rates.

All you need to do is open and fund an account with PFGBEST and begin saving on your data costs. In fact if you meet minimum monthly trading volumes we will pay completely for your BESTDirect eSignal. I know it sounds too good to be true, but it’s true. Check it out. Open an account. The first 30 days of BESTDirect eSignal are free no matter how much or little you trade. Please give me a call to discuss further.

Sincerely,

Mike Panice

II. New NeuroShell and ChaosHunter tips for market neutral pairs trading

We have recently posted market neutral pair trading tips on www.ward.net for both NeuroShell Trader Professional and ChaosHunter.

The NeuroShell tip is posted in the Tips and Techniques section and describes the following:

1. How to build trading strategies (with protective stops) that go long on one stock at the same time they go short on another in the same chart
2. How to use neural networks to build a linear combination of one stock to compute a proxy price, thus creating a co-integrated pair for pairs trading
3. How to optimize a pairs trading strategy in a chart

The ChaosHunter tip is in the New and Updated Examples section and it describes how you can compute a linear combination formula to produce a proxy price, thus creating a co-integrated pair for pairs trading. This formula, of course, can be used in NeuroShell Trader or other platforms that accept formulas.

III. Commentary from Steve Ward, CEO

1. Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodity magazine Readers’ Choice Awards. We are honored to have been voted #1 in Artificial Intelligence trading software for the seventh straight year. Marge Sherald and I picked up the award in New York at a Trader’s Expo ceremony, along with bigger players who took prizes like Interactive Brokers and TradeStation. NeuroShell was also a semi-finalist in the category Standalone Analytical Software, $1000 and more, right behind MetaStock and eSignal. We are indebted to you, our users, for supporting us in these important awards. Even if you do not subscribe and could not vote, you help us anyway by spreading the word about us. We are always trying hard to support YOU as you have supported us. Sincere thanks from all of us to all of you.

2. Data feed programming. There are currently a number of you programming your own datapump interfaces with varying degrees of success. There are two, maybe three commercial endeavors which we hope to be able announce soon. The timing is right because MTFeed is no longer in the business and Prophet.net is not really supporting our data users. Meanwhile, for anyone involved in datafeed efforts, there are three new articles on ward.net under Changes in Documentation that you should read:

Datapump Documentation Revision (3/19/2009)
Datapump Debugging Tool (3/5/2009)
Creating an install program for datapump, tradepump, and add-on apps (3/26/2009)

The most over-looked issue that affects datafeed interfaces is the fact that data should be loaded into NeuroShell with time stamps based on the Eastern time zone. Combine that with the fact that the US Congress has seen fit to make our Daylight Savings time different than the rest of the world, and you have nagging problems every time the US goes on or off daylight savings.

3. PFG eSignal. If you decide to use PFG eSignal (see article I above), you will need to contact PFG to sign up and download the PFG trading platform and the PFG-NeuroShell interface. You download eSignal itself from the eSignal website, but use the userid and password that PFG gives you. However, Ward Systems will be posting certain interface files on www.ward.net that you will need. Watch for them in the “Changes in Documentation” section. Later these files will probably be installed with NeuroShell.
