I. Editorial Commentary by Steve Ward, CEO
1. NeuroShell Trader Advanced Seminar – It has been several years since we have offered a live, in-person seminar of any type, in spite of repeated requests from many of you. We even took our AI College web site down. But in those years I’ve missed getting to know our customers in person, developing some great friendships, and gaining knowledge from many of you in those seminars of yesteryear, so we have decided it is time to get together again. Marge Sherald, our COO, whom many of you know and frequently chat with, will be joining me as co-seminar leader as in years past.
Marge was considering several sites since the feedback from years ago was “Please have a seminar on the West Coast”. A couple of years ago we were close to having one in San Francisco, since there are so many NeuroShell users there. This time Marge kept getting room rate quotes in several cities like $239 – $339, so when we found we could get oceanfront rooms with balconies at the Hilton in Florida at the end of March for $149, we just couldn’t resist.
If you want to bring family members, attendees can upgrade to a Junior Suite, if available, for $50 higher than the discounted group rate. The seminar will end each day at 1PM so you can enjoy the rest of the day on the beach or somewhere else, but if you are really dedicated, there will be free form workshops Tuesday and Wednesday at 2PM.
Monday is a holiday at Ward Systems, so we won’t be doing any technical support, but Marge and I will be in the office much of the day specifically to take your calls about this seminar. Call our normal number, 301-662-7950, press 1 for sales, and either Marge or I will be happy to discuss the plans with you. (Call your accountant, too, because you may be able to deduct the cost.)
Seating is going to be limited because this isn’t a huge hotel, and they can’t hold that $149 rate for long, so if you are interested in making this event, don’t wait and get left out.
Marge and I look forward to meeting old friends and making new ones at the end of March. See article II.
2. VISTA – Don’t be in a big hurry to get VISTA if you want to run our products. The conversion is turning out to be much harder than we thought. The more Microsoft scurries to plug its holes, the more legitimate programs have to adapt. As soon as we are sure that our products are stable we’ll let you know, so you don’t have to call to ask. Frankly, we are finding a lot of other vendors are in the same boat, so even if you don’t absolutely have to run our software, there may be other software important to you that is not ready yet either. In some cases our software depends on other vendor software that isn’t ready.
