I. Turn your network into a super-computer with ChaosHunter 2.0!
ChaosHunter 2.0 is a distributed processing system that will utilize all the cores on all the computers of your local area network to do its crunching. It is like owning a super-computer in your own house or office.
Let’s say your local network has three computers attached, a quad core machine and two dual core machines. That is a total of eight cores, all of which can be searching for your optimum trading model simultaneously. The faster computers will handle a higher share of the load. You have control over which of the computers on the network you want to participate, and which you do not want to participate.
If you do not have a network, but you do have multiple cores on your computer, ChaosHunter 2.0 will still utilize those cores.
In addition to distributed processing, we’ve enhanced ChaosHunter with a number of user requested features including:
Runner-Up Solutions are kept and can be selected.
Long only models and Short only models are now possible.
Graphic Selection of Data Ranges.
Totally independent data ranges.
Copy Model Tree to Clipboard.
Passwords can be “forgotten”.
Additional Trading Statistics.

II. Newer price for ChaosHunter 2.0 and updating from 1.1
The new price for ChaosHunter will be $1495 to reflect the huge increase in distributing processing and other capabilities. (We have been working on 2.0 for more than a year, starting even before ChaosHunter 1.0 was released.) However, current owners of ChaosHunter 1.1 can update to 2.0 for $299. If you purchased ChaosHunter 1.1 after November 1, 2008, we will waive the update fee until April 1, 2009.
Attendees of our February Seminar will be able to purchase ChaosHunter 2.0 for 30% off the OLD price until 30 days after the Seminar. If a seminar attendee already owns ChaosHunter, the update fee will be waived.
If you’ve been thinking about buying ChaosHunter, now is the time before the price goes up in a few days. Once we release 2.0, we will change the price on the website and you will have to pay the new price.

III. Commentary from Steve Ward, CEO
1. How to survive the depression. Businesses are struggling, layoffs are rampant, markets are down everywhere, interest rates are down, 401Ks are down, oil is down, real estate isn’t moving, what can you do to make a little money? In the long term, you can invest in the down markets, and hope that things pick up in the next 10 years or so. But I have a better idea – trading. Better yet, trading with leveraged instruments like futures and forex. Then it doesn’t matter if the stock market goes up or not, because you are riding the waves, so to speak. Of course it isn’t as easy as making long term investments in stocks or real estate, but it can be a whole lot more rewarding. Anyway, making it easier is where we come in. Just be ready with realistic expectations and the mindset to pay your dues in the beginning.
2. Seminar. There are still seats available. Bring the spouse and kids so they can have a good time at the beach while you are in the seminar. The available discounts on software will help pay for the trip. Remember, there are no further seminars planned for 2009 and maybe none in 2010 either. I just looked at the lunch menus and they look great. Marge Sherald has now added a continental breakfast buffet starting at 8:30 am each day in the meeting room.
3. Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodity magazine Readers’ Choice Awards. If we are honored to be voted #1 in Artificial Intelligence trading software for the seventh straight year, Marge and I will be at Traders Expo in New York on February 22 to receive the award.

IV. Office closure
Ward Systems Group will be closed Monday, February 16 in observance of the President’s Day Federal Holiday. The remainder of the week some staff will be at the NeuroShell Trader Advanced Seminar, so be patient while waiting for answers to questions.
