III. AI College news

IV. Operating system considerations with NeuroShell Trader
Windows 95 – The NeuroShell Trader, Trader, and DayTrader Pro as of release 3.3 will not work on Windows 95 due to newer features installed internally. If you are running Windows 95, you really should be upgrading anyway.
Windows NT – You need to be on Windows NT Service Pack 3 (sp3) or greater to even install.
Windows 2000 – There is a warning you should read on www.ward.net called “Read this before you convert to Windows 2000”. If you don’t heed this warning when you upgrade from Windows 98, you may be spending a lot of time on the phone with us ironing out driver problems.
Windows XP – At this writing, Windows XP has not been released, and we cannot therefore officially support it yet. However, we are running a pre-release here with no problem. If you have a pre-release of Windows XP, try running the latest Trader (download from www.ward.net) on it if you wish, but maybe you shouldn’t put production trading systems on it. If you have problems we will assist you as long as you are on the LATEST pre-release of XP from Microsoft.
Asian versions of Windows – Earlier releases of the NeuroShell Trader would not operate on Chinese, Japanese, and Korean versions of Microsoft Windows. Current releases have the problem corrected. So if you have wanted to run the Trader on a copy of Windows for your native language, now is the time to try it again.

V. Price increase coming
The cost of GeneHunter, NeuroShell Predictor, NeuroShell Classifier, NeuroShell 2, and NeuroShell Runtime Server will each increase by $50 on October 1, 2001. If you were thinking of purchasing any of these products, now is the time to do it and save $50.
After the price increase, those who take delivery of these products by Internet download will receive a $50 discount, effectively nullifying the price increase. Of course, for Internet delivery, there will also be no shipping charge, because we will not deliver a physical CD.
Replacement CDs for all of our products are now $50 plus shipping.

VI. Dial Data changes
If you are using the DialData downloader in the NeuroShell Trader with a subscription to Dial Data (a.k.a Track Data), there are some changes coming you should note. The domain name of their web site – the one the downloader connects to – is changing. You will need to change the links in the Dial Data downloader to dd.trackdata.com.
Here is what you need to do before September 10, 2001. Go to the Trader’s ‘Tools’ menu, then ‘Data Sources’, then the ‘End of Day Download’ tab. Push the ‘DialData Download Setup’ button. Then push the ‘Setup..’ button opposite ‘Network: Internet’. Change both Host1 and Host2 to “dd.trackdata.com”.
If you install a new Trader release from our web site, make these changes after installing. We have not integrated these changes into our code as of this writing.
