I. If You Like Free Tech Support, Vote!

For 24 years we have been bringing you free technical support on all of our artificial intelligence products. We have never charged anyone for help as many other companies do, and we do not want to start. Maintaining a staff on the phones every day is expensive, so we have to depend on new sales to pay for that. One of the best sources of new sales is our rating in Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities magazine. Help us help you by voting for NeuroShell in the Readers’ Choice Awards, if you are a subscriber. Go to www.ward.net and there will be a link at the bottom that will take you to the site to vote.

1. Get your copy of a Stocks & Commodities magazine and visit www.ward.net. Scroll to the bottom where you will find a link to vote. On the Readers’ Choice Awards Ballot enter your subscriber ID from your magazine address label (look at their example to see which numbers on the label are the subscriber ID). Next enter your last name.

2. After you are logged in, look for the Standalone Analytical Software, $1000 and more category on page 2. Be sure to mark you ballot for NeuroShell Trader Professional (Ward Systems Group Inc.)

3. Do the same for the Artificial Intelligence Software (Expert, Neural) category on page 3. Look for NeuroShell Trader Professional (Ward Systems Group Inc.). THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT VOTE!

4. Also in the Artificial Intelligence Software category, we’d appreciate a second place vote for GeneHunter, the genetic algorithm optimizer that is included in NeuroShell Trader Professional.

II. ChaosHunter Model Correction – Marge Sherald, CEO

If you tried to build the ChaosHunter model based on the description from last month’s newsletter, you found out that the results did not translate into the real world. I apologize for the confusion. When I built the Forex model in ChaosHunter, I selected the %change in open as the output. The trading signals looked great, both during the optimization period and in the out-of-sample period. However, I had forgotten one very important difference between NeuroShell Trader and ChaosHunter. While the Trader gets a trading signal after the close of a bar and fills that order on the next open, ChaosHunter calculates profit based on filling the order on whatever time series is selected as the output. Since you cannot send an order to your broker that trades on the %change in open, the model was flawed.

We appreciate the customers who took the time to report the problem.

III. Thanks for a Successful Year

We would like to thank you for your support over the past year. Your questions and suggestions challenge us every day.

As a way of saying thanks, remember to take advantage of the holiday sale, which saves you 20% on most of our software and runs until December 31, 2012. Visit www.neuroshell.com and www.chaoshunter.com for the details.
