Q) What should I do if the Interactive Brokers TWS is shutdown while NST is running and placing trades.
A) The TWS forces a logoff once per day, and the default seems to be 10 PM. To set this logoff time in the TWS go to Configure->Global Configuration->Exit where you will be able to set the Auto Log Off Timer. There are also third party programs on the IB website that may be able to stop TWS from doing this, although we have not tested them.
NeuroShell Trader will not reconnect with the Interactive Brokers TWS if it is shutdown and then restarted. You will need to save the chart(s) that are trading with Interactive Brokers, shutdown NeuroShell Trader, reload the IB TWS and then reload NeuroShell Trader and the charts you were actively trading.
It should be noted that once IB TWS is shutdown, NeuroShell Trader will still send out orders, but because it does not receive back any order confirmations after the IB TWS is shutdown, NeuroShell Trader will stay in the same long/short position. So as long as you save the chart(s) prior to shutting down and restarting NST, the charts will pick up in the same long/short position that it was in when the TWS was shutdown.
Q) What happens if my PC crashes while NeuroShell Trader is actively trading with Interactive Brokers.
A) Unfortunately, NeuroShell Trader charts will only remember their IB position at the time that they were last saved. So if you reload the chart and NeuroShell Trader shows a different long/short position in the Alerts/Orders window than is shown in the Interactive Brokers TWS, you will have to manually place the appropriate orders with IB to get the IB TWS into the same position as NeuroShell Trader is showing when the chart is reloaded. We plan to change NeuroShell so that it automatically saves the charts just before trades are placed.
