I’ve had the chance to use the Adaptive Turbo Prop 2 + Turning Points + Adaptive Net Indicators (I have several others but these have been the best by far!)
The Adaptive Turbo Prop 2 has got to be my favourite in terms of its effectiveness and how useful it has been when it comes to making money and getting results quickly when you have the right inputs.
The turning points has been great too and has been quite effective for finding valleys and peaks, I’ve especially enjoyed using the TP-Support and TP- Resistence indicators for finding points of entry and exit for my models
Last but not least the Adaptive Nets indicator pack has been my newest addition and I’m still workign through this but it has shown to be quite effective as well for predictions and helping me find new opportunities to trade.
I hope to we can talk about our favourite indicators and addons, hopefully to share our knowledge and know-how into the best ways to use them!
+1 on Turning Points, only just recently purchased it and still playing around with it, but I’ll be honest I am a complete NS newbie at the moment and still finding my way, but using peaks and valleys as a prediction is getting me some pretty nice results, well at least on paper anyway.
My other goto’s at the moment are the Bowfort zero lag indicators, smoothing is ultra good.
I am also super torn on moving from Professional to Power User, I have quite a lot of charts built out now, and not being able to batch optimize is driving me nuts 🙂 but not sure if upgrade price nuts just yet!
Hi guys , at the moment , i love the chaos hunter ,
if you get the right inputs , it seems harder to do but the results work especially on the out of sample . I have the ANI but i prefer the chaos hunter .
I hope to be trying a very complex setup in Chaos in the next month .
So i am voting for Chaos hunter.
regards
Michael.Chaos Hunter is probably going to be my next point of investigation since it is quite amazing to have the ability to knock out a formula.
As of this week I’ve started to use the stiffness indicator from Markos Katsanos along with my favourite addon of all time “turning points” and managed to make an awesome model.
I started with reading this and testing it outBuild a Supply and Demand Trading System and Selective Calculations – June 2016 Newsletter
before having a read of this
and refining the model, next up is making an ensemble and then taking it live!
Am seriously thinking to pull the trigger on the chaos hunter as well, going to give it some serious thought at the end of the month!
Thanks for the replies – i’ll report soon!
Well i just posted 2x links to the articles which helped me build my model – looks like we’ve found the first bug in the forum! 😀
Hello NeuroSpark, well , this is something i have done with the Chaos Hunter,
I took approximately 2300 days of back data and used it in excel , putting extra inputs etc. I then did a sort of the data to end up with 413 days .
I then randomized the data and used 349 for optimizing and 63 days for out of sample test , I managed to get R2 of .78 , that holds up on the out of sample data set as well. Good trading but very low number of trades.
The other big problem is the Skew and Kurtosis especially as the market has been in an up trend for so long .
So i was impressed that CH could solve the problem on all randomized data with the search range extending from + 18 percent to minus 18 percent .
I think i will be able to get a better R2 reading by defining some better sort criteria .
I added some extra columns to be able to test the trading against the signal in excel. Not used in CH optimizing.Hello All,
I like the TP-Support/Resistance
I am a day trader who has survived the test of time.
I am looking for suggestions and ideas for a FOREX trading system.
I have been using price-action breakouts.
I have tried many trading styles and really like the idea of analyzing other markets, correlation and thereby the intermarket analysis for a base as to the direction to trade, combined with time-of-day entry/exits, and the TP-Support/TP-Resistance breakout/return (zone).
