II. Holiday sale!

Give yourself a present this year. From December 1 through December 21, 2001, all of our software and consulting are 15% off. Buy before the holidays and save! You must ask for the “Holiday Sale” when you order, and this sale can’t be combined with any other discounts or promotions.

In addition to the sale, we will be raising our shipping rates after December 31, so that’s another reason to stock up on your software now.

III. NeuroShell Trader release 3.5

We have placed a new release of NeuroShell Trader on www.ward.net for free download. There is really no new functionality, but we have corrected as many bugs as we could find. However, this release also has support for the M3 Market Data Server (see related article below).

IV. M3 Market Data Server now ready for testing

Many of our NeuroShell DayTrader users are frustrated with Quote.com and are anxious to use another data feed. Many of you have looked forward to our support of the Universal Market Data Server, now called the M3 Market Data Server, by MarketStream, Inc. If you are one of those, and you are anxious enough to do beta testing for us, then we have news for you on www.ward.net. We have posted how you can become a tester of this new intraday data source. Look in the section called “Release News, Upgrade Information and Beta Tests”. To become a beta tester, you must already own the NeuroShell DayTrader, and you must be willing to subscribe to one of the data feeds that M3 supports. To read more about M3 visit www.mktstream.com.

V. Neural networks in fraud detection

According to a recent news item in Epaynews.com titled “US Card Fraud ‘Growing’ In Face Of Chip”, credit card fraud in the US is lower than in Europe because of the use of neural networks to detect fraud. Specifically they quote Celent analyst, Meredith Hickman Outwater, as saying, “because fraud in the US is already very low due to the use of neural networks, the added expense of smart cards is not worth it”.

Ward Systems has sold neural networks through the years to many users engaged in fraud detection, including Visa.

VI. AI College news

Many of you have requested another session of the Advanced Course for the NeuroShell Trader Professional and DayTrader Professional. We have therefore decided to offer the course again early next year. The course will run between January 14, 2002 and March 29, 2002 inclusive. The price is still $670, but if you sign up and pay before the end of December 21, 2001, you can take advantage of the Holiday Sale of 15%, bringing the cost down to $569.50! Remember the course is any consecutive 45 day period you select between the dates above (the time the course actually takes averages between 10 and 25 days on a part time basis). Please check out www.aicollege.com for more details on how this course works and view a sample lesson.
